6 Ways to Beat the Winter Blues

As I sit and write this, I'm staring at the window and looking at a wetness that has come over New Hampshire. I can see the drops of rain on the bare tree branches.

They are even hanging from the electrical wires that cross the road. I watch the cars drive by with their wipers going swish swish swish back and forth.

While rain might not be the most ideal weather (especially as I'm going running when I'm done writing this post!) let's be happy it's not snow. Because y'all know...it's December. It's cold. It's New England. Which means that most precipitation is usually of the white variety.

But I'm not complaining. I'll take rain over snow right now. (That being said, I'm dreaming of a white Christmas.....)

It's the blanket of darkness that I want to go away. 4:30pm now feels like 10pm! It makes me want to go to bed at 7pm - which is early even for me. That darkness kinda creeps in..I notice it's not as bright outside and then all of a sudden.

Boom. It's solidly dark out. As someone who loves the light, this is tough for me. The darkness takes away some of my motivation, my creativity, my inspiration. I have to fight hard to keep that stuff sticking around.

And from what I hear from you, you can totally relate to this. It's nice to know that I am not alone in my struggle to fight the winter doldrums.
