This means only 247 followers are liking + commenting on your content. As brands want to get in front of as many new eyeballs and potential customers as possible, the larger your online presence is, the higher the engagement rate, bigger your reach.
If a brand was looking to collaborate with you, you would get paid a lot more if your audience was 24,780 with a high engagement rate vs 2478 people. Most brand collaborations are a financial game in that the brand wants to maximize their budget to reach as many people as they can.
