Influencer Niches
As one is getting ready to start a journey of content creation and perhaps eventually doing brand collaborations, figuring out your niche is the first step of the journey. Ideally establishing yourself as an expert in your niche, identifies you as a go-to person for others looking for more information about whatever the topic is.
Deciding what you want to create content about on your social media will impact your earning potential, content, brand collaborations and honestly, joy and success in the Influencer marketing industry. There’s no shortage of niches AND profitable niches for content creation online. Let’s get into the top 10 different niches and what each of them mean for your content creation business.
What is an Influencer Niche?
An influencer niche is defined as a targeted theme of content that you create for your target audience who has similar interests. It defines your expertise, your content and ultimately your brand. Said another way, an influencer niche can also be thought of as the intersection of an influencer’s passion, expertise, and the specific needs or desires of a defined audience. It’s what sets an influencer apart from others by narrowing their focus to a specialized content area, such as vegan cooking, tech reviews for beginners, or eco-friendly parenting.
A well-defined niche allows influencers to stand out in a crowded digital space by offering tailored content that resonates deeply with your audience, helping you build trust, authenticity, and long-term relationships with both followers and brands looking to target that specific demographic.

Beauty & Skincare Influencer Niche
If you’ve spent any time online, then you’ve no doubt watched someone do their makeup or seen their skin care routine. This is what the beauty and skincare niche is all about – showcasing the products! And what better way than to demonstrate them in real time? This niche is all about makeup tutorials, beauty product reviews and as mentioned, skincare routines.
Personally I think it’s a niche that has a lot of affiliate marketing opportunities. Worth noting that I’ve not done a lot of partnerships in this influencer niche but from what I can see online in people’s content and what I read on casting calls, the best Influencers for this niche are ones who can convert sales and move product.
Fashion Influencer Niche
Fashion is visual, making it a great niche for social media platforms. As fashion seemingly changes on a dime or a season, there’s also no shortage of content creation opportunities. Creators can post high end, luxury items all the way down to thrifting finds at your local Goodwill and everything in between.
This is a niche that has strong affiliate opportunities. As in, an Influencer Marketing Agency might not often pay a flat fee for content creation but they will offer an affiliate opportunity. This means that you will earn a commission on any sale you make for that brand. You’ll get a unique link that will track your sales.
Lately this niche has seen a surge in content that’s about sustainability and anti-fast fashion and consumerism. There’s a lot of fashion creators who thrift and showcase their finds online.
Food & Drink Influencer Niche
This is a niche I have a lot of experience in thanks to my talent, Yvette Marquez of Muy Bueno Cooking and Ismail Mpiana of My Culinary Adventures. If you’re interested in being in the food and drink influencer niche, you’ve got two different options about how to create content and establish yourself. One way is what Yvette does, to create original recipes and cocktails, highlighting different brands, ingredients and products. Here’s an oatmeal recipe she shared integrating the brand Quaker Oats.
On the other side, Ismail partners with restaurants to highlight their dishes, menus and new location openings. Ismail’s did this reel highlighting a bakery in Texas that has humongous cinnamon rolls, as evidenced in his content! An interesting twist on this approach is that it can also involve travel and doing paid partnerships with destinations. Here’s an example of when Ismail partnered with Discover Vail in Colorado to highlight restaurants. His content has even taken him to Australia!
There’s definitely a lot of brand collaboration opportunities in this niche. Personally it’s one of my favorite because it’s content I also consume…pun intended!

Gaming Influencer Niche
Gaming influencer stream games and events in real time, they review new games and provide commentary on esports, which are electronic sports. Also known as competitive sports games that can be played as either a multiplayer scenario or an individual. A couple examples are League of Legends, Rocket League and Dota 2.
This can be a very lucrative niche. Gaming influencers’ audiences are loyal and spend big to get the latest and greatest games and consoles. It’s a dynamic, rapidly growing niche. Not only can Influencers earn from brand partnerships, but there’s also opportunities to earn via monetization with ad revenue, subscription services and merchandise sales.
I wouldn’t suggest that everyone jump into gaming niche. It’s best suited for people who are gamers, who already understand the language and culture. It’s already a very saturated niche with loads of creators entering into this field daily.
Health & Wellness Influencer Niche
The health and wellness niche is highly popular as more and more people prioritize their own health and wellbeing. It’s a niche dedicated to fitness, nutritional, self care, mental health and more. This is a great niche for content creation online as you can make fitness videos, share about your morning routine, teach yoga classes and more.
I’ve got a lot of experience in this field thanks to my creator Lorraine Ladish of Viva Fifty. She’s been in this space since the start of her journey. Her audience has come to love her for her take on disrupting aging and reminding her audience about physical and mental health checks. They also love how she shares the products and supplements that she uses as she manages different phases of life, into her 60’s.
Influencers in this niche have a lot of brand collaboration opportunities. You could partner with products such as supplement or fitness drink companies, apps to promote programs or be part of health awareness campaigns such as letting people know the CDC has lower the age of colonoscopies to 45 years old. It’s a very personal niche which I think helps build great engagement with your audience. Aren’t we all so nosy to want to know what others are doing in their daily routines and to stay fit? I know I am!
Home and DIY Influencer Niche
The home and DIY niche has seen quite a surge in popularity thanks to COVID when everyone was home and decided to do those home projects they’d put off for years. This niche covers home renovation, garden, DIY projects, rental upgrades, budget friendly makeovers, crafts and sustainable living.
This niche is full of educational videos, before and afters and fun visuals of behind the scenes of tearing down walls and ripping up floors, to name a few adventurous things that happen with DIY creators. This is definitely a niche to get into if you’re passionate about home renovations, up for a challenge and like learning or figuring things out.
It’s a pretty relatable topic and quite useful for many. I’ve seen a lot of creators quickly grow their audience with their honest assessments of projects gone wrong or conversely doing a very impressive job on something that seemed really hard. The visuals of this niche are fun as you’ve got paint colors, wallpaper options, home & furniture design and ripped out walls and roofs.
This is not a niche for the fainthearted! It’s become such a popular niche that there are agencies, like FARQ Media, dedicated solely to creators in this field.
Lifestyle Influencer Niche
The Lifestyle Influencer niche is super versatile and quite broad so there’s a lot of ways you can go with your content. Be careful as that’s just one of the cons of this niche – you don’t want to be a lifestyle influencer that’s so vague or broad on what you do, nobody really knows what you’re about. When this happens, you’ll miss out on building a brand and collaboration opportunities with companies as brands won’t be clear if they’re a good fit or not.
Within this niche you can add in different elements to really personalize it to you. That will pay off with your following as we all always want the personal story behind the brand. I would recommend you pick a couple areas of your daily life to focus on such as family or fitness or food or maybe travel.
Lifestyle influencers have no shortage of brand opportunities. From products throughout your home, what you eat or use in the kitchen, to travel opportunities and fashion, the sky is your limit! On top of brand partnerships, you can also create products aka merch or lend your name, once you’ve got a big enough following to white label products.
A word of caution, make sure you manage the personal information and insider glimpses of your life you share with your following. You always want to keep your safety in mind.
Sustainable Living Influencer Niche
This niche has grown in popularity in recent years with families choosing to home school their children, to live on the road with a minimalist lifestyle or not buy unnecessary items during the course of the year. There’s a lot more attention on reducing waste, upcycling, growing what you eat, homesteading and making eco-conscious choices. A content creator in this space is quite a niche influencer!
Parenting Influencer Niche
The parenting niche has really seen a rise in popularity these past few years as more and more parents search for answers to their questions online and across social media. Parents are looking for support, product reviews, to troubleshoot their kids’ issues and get perspective. From infants to pre-teens to college kids, there is no shortage of content to write and share about when it comes to parenting.
People get into this niche if they want to help others, perhaps driven by their own challenges as a parent. It’s a great creative outlet for many when it comes to storytelling, making videos and creating educational resources for other parents.
It absolutely can be a lucrative niche because what’s expensive? Being a parent is expensive. Be it the latest toy, trend, remedy or experience, parents are ready and willing to shell out money for their children. This means there’s ample brand collaboration opportunities in this niche.
Single Parenting Influencer Niche
If you wanted to take it a step further, you could do content around being a single parent. This is a very relatable topic for a large group of people. You can speak about the challenges and upsides to single parents. It would be a niche that could provide either education or inpsiration to others who are navigating the challenges of single parenting.
Blended Family Influencer Niche
This niche could provide a lot of education and resources for families navigating step-parenting, co-parenting and fostering bonds between children with different parents. You can speak about setting family rules, how to foster communication, build trust and more. This could be a very personal niche for you if it’s relatable with a great opportunity to build a community around shared experiences.
Personal Finance Influencer Niche
This niche is all about educating people on financial literacy, retirement plans, investing, budgeting, your credit score and more. Influencers in this space ideally should be well educated to break down these complex topics into more digestible pieces.
This is definitely a niche that requires a high level of understanding to become an expert and create content. The best finance influencers understand this niche comes with a higher level of responsibility than some other niches, due to the financial advice, strategies and plans offered by the Influencer. There’s definitely high demand for content creators in this niche as people are constantly looking for financial advice.
It’s a lucrative niche because the brand collaborations come with a lot of exclusivity & regulation. Brand partners in this niche pay a premium to the influencers they partner with because of the high lifetime value of a financial customer. Think about it this way, how often do you switch banks, investment companies or credit cards?
Two of my favorite finance influencers are Tori Dunlap of Her First 100k and Vivian Tu of Your Rich BFF.
Travel Influencer Niche
The Travel Influencer niche is one of my personal favorites. It’s content that I love to consume so I love to work in this space. I’ve had a lot of experience negotiating millions of dollars in this niche thanks to my creators Jessica Serna of My Curly Adventures and Shaunda Necole of Vegas Right Now.
As with a lot of other niche, there’s no shortage of content and brand collaboration opportunity in this niche. You can do content for couples, solo travelers or families. You can showcase budget travel, luxury travel or anything in between. It can be content about staycations, traveling the globe or visiting all National Parks and 50 states.
I do think it’s a popular niche that people want to go into but of all the niches on this list, similar to food, I think it’s one of the more exhausting niches for content creation. It’s not the same as getting a new shampoo and filming it in your bathroom. There’s a lot more logistics and expenses involved in the travel niche. Quite possibly super high reward for the places you’ll get to go as well, which is nice considering you’re dealing with flight delays, car issues, time zones and more.
Travel niche content can be absolutely stunning! It’s awe inspiring, motivating and humbling. Personally whether I’m doing research for my next trip or armchair traveling across my iphone, I will never get sick of travel content.

Be wise when choosing the niche for your content. It will have a very lasting impact on the longevity of your brand. Whatever influencer niche that you’re drawn to, make sure it’s one that you feel comfortable sharing about online and could create content for over days and days, even if no one is watching.
There’s pros and cons to each niche, different ways to make money and a range of companies for brand collaborations. Do your research ahead of time as some niches are more saturated than others. Whatever you decide, stay consistent, post frequently and always ensure that your content is full of value. What niche is calling your name?
